It was crazy busy leading up to our departure on July 7th, lot of tears and goodbyes. We arrived at the Nairobi airport on time and waited and waited as our last suitcase and crate finally appeared. We were greeted by our good friends, Esther & Mwende Hall and Daniel M. We spent a couple of days in Nairobi where we got our iphones setup with Kenyan phone numbers, researched prices as we prepared to equip our home, and tried to adjust to the new time zone.
Oh yeah, hadn’t got a chance to tell you that 2 weeks before we left the USA, we were told that we have a used car and a 3 bedroom home that’s within walking distance of The Shelter and within our budget!!! God has truly provided for us!!
After we spent time a couple of days in Nairobi, we headed to Kijabe to begin our training with the Smith’s along with the Derse family who will be spending one month at The Hill.
Tomorrow Deb and I are very excited as we will travel out to our new home town. We will get to see our new home, see the work that’s been happening on the property of The Shelter, and connect with people we have met on prior visits to this city.
Much to do in the next couple of weeks. We will have a lot of news and pictures in our next update. Stay Tuned as the adventure begins …
